Clean and Unclean Foods, Does It Matter to a Christian?

Some of you may be wondering, “What does clean and unclean foods have to do with me?”   “What relation does clean and unclean foods have to do with sexual immorality or my relationship with God”.   “I”m a Christian, the Messiah did away with the law, why should I be concerned?” Well, before you tune me out,  let me share a few verses:

  • If ye love me, keep my commandments. —John 14:15
  • Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.  —1 John 3:4
  • He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.— 1 John 2:4-5

So, what are his commandments and what law is trangressed?  It seems to me that  love is demonstrated by obedience.    Not just a feeling, emotion or some euphoric expression but ….Actions that show the love that’s within.  I wouldn’t say to my wife, “I love you!” and then go out and have an affair, hang out with other women, give gifts to another woman,  not spend time with her or not do the things that please her.

Obedience to Yahweh is evidence of the love and also draws us closer to Him.   Being closer to Him, we are less likely to lust after other things to fulfill our desires.

I challenge you to listen to  a teaching by a friend, Jim Staley of Passion for Truth Ministries.   Some advice….please read the Word for yourself.   Study it!  Know it!

There are two parts to this teaching.

Bless you and May Yahweh keep you,

Allen Williams

Thank you for your interest in my blog.

  3. Very interesting! I’d take that hamma slamma of a sermon and fry it on a stick, because that’s some clean spiritual food right there. Love it.
