Here in the St. Louis area, we have been ministering to the North St. Louis city through my local church (Destiny Church) with Turning Lives Today. Outreach to that area began in January of 2006 with coffee runs to the homeless. That summer we began doing outreaches a couple times a month where we handed out practical needs (e.g. laundry detergent, school supplies) and had a barbecue where we fed the people for free as we got to pray with them and tell them about Jesus.
During the time we’ve been ministering to that area we’ve seen many people come to the Lord in addition to having practical, physical needs met. It’s been exciting to see lives radically changed!
One example of the impact comes from a woman we became friends with the first summer we began the outreach. At the time she was homeless and addicted to drugs. Now she is sober, has a job and a relationship with the Lord. God is so good!
