The Wicked Heart the Redemption Through Christ

Jeremiah 17: 9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it:?  I , the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” Oh man, do I know this all too well.  In my relationship with Lord, I’ve had to come to a deep realization of what and who I really am.  The more He reveals of Himself  to me, the more I know how much I am deeply sinful.  I cannot live a good life according to His standards, not my own or the worlds standard, unless I rely on the power of the Holy One in me.  It is He who gives me the power to do good according to His ways.   I must choose to allow His spirit working in me to do so.

Many may believe that man is inherently good, but the Word of God clearly refutes this notion (and why would Jesus have to come and save a good world….just a thought).   Anytime I fall short of His will, I sometimes look to this verse; not for justification for doing evil but for reminder of  my nature.   Having full knowledge of my nature, I am then able to submit myself to the one I know can empower me to do good and be holy as he is holy.

For it’s “Christ in us the hope of glory”(Col. 1:27) that makes us “perfect” (Col. 1:28) thereby making us “complete in Him” (Col. 2:10).
